PENGUATAN LITERASI HUKUM TENTANG PENDIDIKAN AGAMA DALAM SISTEM PENDIDIKAN NASIONAL GUNA MEMBANGUN TOLERANSI BERAGAMA DI DESA SUKARAMAI

Abstract

_{Religious education within the Indonesian national education framework is an ideological and constitutional manifestation of the first principle of Pancasila, Belief in the One and Only God. However, public understanding at the rural grassroots level regarding the legal obligations, human rights framework, and systemic role of religious instruction in preventing intolerance remains limited. This community service aimed to provide legal literacy and enhance public understanding of Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System and Constitutional Court Decision Number 146/PUU-XXII/2024. Held at the Sukaramai Village Government Office, Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, the program used participatory legal counseling methods, comprising legal lectures, educational pocketbook distribution, and interactive focus group discussions. The counseling emphasized that religious education is mandatory for shaping national moral character rather than a mere ritualistic curriculum. The initiative successfully improved community legal awareness, clarifying the constitutional basis of religious instruction and its essential contribution to interfaith harmony and social cohesion. In conclusion, structured legal literacy plays a crucial role in preventing intolerance while ensuring constitutional rights at the village level.}
